Golf is a popular pastime for locals and visitors in Fairlie.  The local Glen Cairn Golf Course is a scenic, well-maintained golf course on the edge of town.

Pinewood Motels have four half-sets of golf clubs for hire and also collect green fees.

Fairlie Golf Club

The Fairlie Golf Club operates the Glen Cairn Golf Course.  A wonderfully maintained, high quality golf course, with spectacular views of the Two Thumb and Sherwood Mountain Ranges.

Mt Nessing Golf Club

Mt Nessing Golf Club is situated near Albury.  The course is only open for part of the year. It is normally closed from the first weekend in August until the third week of February.

The Mackenzie Golf Club operates at the Balmoral Golf Course, New Zealand's highest 9 hole course.
